A new era to space

The moon has always fascinated humans since ancient times. It is the closest celestial body to Earth, and yet it remains largely unexplored and mysterious. What secrets does it hold? What challenges does it pose? What opportunities does it offer? These are some of the questions that motivate the quest for lunar exploration and discovery.

The Destination Moon

In this article, we will take you on a journey to the moon, from the first human landing in 1969 to the latest missions and plans for the future. We will explore the scientific, technological, and cultural aspects of lunar exploration, as well as the benefits and risks involved. The war begins…….

The cold war was the competition between the two great powers of the earth one is the democratic capitalist United States and Communist Soviet Union . The Cold War was a period of intense rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union, two superpowers that emerged after World War II. They competed for global influence and military supremacy. One of the arenas of this competition was space exploration, which became known as the Space Race.

As world war two came to the end the Americans and the Soviet unions captured Germany’s rocket engineers and rocket technology including V-2 ( a rocket-powered flying bomb which was the first ballistic missile, used by the Germans in the Second World War ) .

Wernher Von Braun :

Wernher Von Braun

One recruitment of particular value for the Americans was the rocket engineer Wernher Von Braun who would lead the US program. The Soviet meanwhile recruit Sergei Korolev to lead the Soviet space program.

The V-2 rocket

On arrival in America continues to develop the V-2 rocket for the US army . Wernher Von Braun and his team were clearly interested in pushing the technology forwards improving the performance of the V-2 rockets and refining some of the systems that controlled the flight eventually they started flying two stage rockets where V-2 was the first stage and they had an additional booster as the second stage .

The mastermind behind the V-2 rocket scientist Wernher Von Braun will later become an unlikely giant of the American space program . At the end of the war US agents capture over 100 German scientists including Wernher Von Braun and recruit them to develop weapons for the US army . Wernher Von Braun and his team were shipped over to the states in September 1945 along with 15 tons of paperwork and more than a 100 V-2 rockets .

Conquest of space :

As the cold war gets momentum both superpowers realize the conflict will be one or lost on the power of technology. With missiles reaching higher and higher altitudes it becomes clear that the ultimate symbol of superiority will be the conquest of space.

The battle between two competing superpowers communism and capitalism stored what better stage could be for you to convince the rest of the world that your system is superior than the stage of space exploration.

Supremacy in space was vital it said to the world who have the technological superiority.

Sputnik-1 ( The first man made satellite which went into orbit )

In 1957 the US learns of several spectacular Soviet space victories that send shockwaves across America. On october 4th 1957 the Soviet union launchers Sputnik-1 the world’s first man made artificial satellite. The Americans for absolutely shocked that dictatorship suddenly beats them to the first hurdle which was to put the first object into orbit around the earth . Every day it was orbiting the earth 16 times and every day it was passing over the American territory.

Sputnik-2

This is where it came a whole shock wave to the United States when the Russians launched the first man made artificial satellite to orbit the earth.

The dog Laika (First life form to orbit into space)

On  November 3rd 1957 the 2nd artificial satellite went into  orbit, one month later America suffers for the humiliation as Sputnik-2  carries life into orbit a dog named Laika.

This is the end of part 1 of the space race. Part 2 releases next week
